PROJECT ONE: Options for the provision of dementia services,
including the possible transfer of in-house dementia services to another provider.
Scope of the Project
Consultants were required firstly to evaluate the viability of the proposals and secondly, to produce a service specification for the integrated service and enter into discussions with potential providers so as to enable the Heads of Adult Social Services Commissioning and Adult Provider Unit to make eventual recommendations to Members.
Other relevant projects included:
• Reprovision of Older People’s Registered Care (including dementia care beds and day services) in a Unitary Authority and two London Boroughs.
• Developing a care purchasing strategy for older people’s registered care (including dementia services) in a County Authority.
• Facilitating the transfer of local authority adult care services (assessment and provision) to its partner PCT whilst in the role of Interim Assistant Director Primary Care in a London Borough.
