June holds a Certificate in Teaching (Des), Certificate of Qualification in Social Work (CQSW), Diploma in Applied Social Studies, Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) and a Diploma in Human Givens (Brief Therapy) and is a highly experienced manager and Social Worker in Social Services with extensive knowledge and skills in generic working across user groups including: children, older people, people with learning disabilities and people with mental health problems. Additionally as a Manager, she set up and developed new and exciting services commissioned as a trouble shooter to improve services which were temporarily dysfunctional due to a variety of reasons. She developed the process of commissioning and contracting following the NHS and Community Care Act 1990 and played a key role in a Social Services Department’s successful application and re-accreditation for the prestigious Investors in People award.

More recently as a consultant in social care and health services she has offered a varied and flexible response to a variety of purchasers and providers. This has involved working generically, mainly for Local Authorities, however she has also worked for and with Health Authorities and Independent Providers of Care. Other recent work includes, Interim Divisional Manager of Adults with Learning Disabilities and with Mental Health problems, Interim Assistant Director of Contracts and Procurement, Interim Head of Service for Older People, temporary Manager of an Emergency Duty Team and Consultant to a small independent fostering agency.

June’s main skills lie in managing vacant posts at a senior level and enabling staff to develop and progress their services until a new permanent manager comes into post. In order to achieve this she carries out the full range of duties and responsibilities of the post and works through encouragement, motivation and focused leadership of staff. She also enjoys taking on special projects involving care management, commissioning and contracting of social care services.
