JOY COONEY
Joy has 35 yrs experience working with local authorities and the voluntary sector in social work and care management roles at practitioner and supervisory levels and as a trainer. She has been instrumental in developing and delivering services such as Direct Payments and Independent Living Fund for adults with physical and learning disability. During this time she has been involved in all aspects of social work but since 1990 she has specialised in working with younger adults with physical disability. Joy is a trainer for Safeguarding and also provides training in a number of health conditions such as MS and Huntingdon’s Disease. Through Phoenix she has worked for a number of years as a reviewer and carried out FACS reviews for adults all over the country. She has also been an auditor for a social work team where Safeguarding Case files were audited prior to an inspection.
